Hierarchy of Values for the Warrior-Priest
The hierarchy of values based on the horizonal and vertical growth are worth discussing. This has been the primary reason for my desire to create this blogger. There is truth to what has to be said by Kristian with how human society has been losing its connection with the Divine.
The Principles of the "Sacred Structure"
- God
- True Self
- Body & Action
- Family & Community
- Nature
Vertical Structure
- Transcendence (King)
- Christ, or Higher Self-image (Priest)
- Excellence (Warrior)
- Love (Marriage)
Horizontal Structure
- Nature (Mortality)
These principles are important to understand, so that we can find meaning and purpose in our lives. Everyone has a purpose, and it's up to each of us to discover that.
The Scriptures, both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are replete with examples of the Warrior-Priest, chief among them is the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the true archetype all of us are to emulate. There are others in holy writ who can be emulated. Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Daniel, Nephi, Abinadi, Captain Moroni, Helaman, and Teancum, among so many others.
In other forms of literature we can find Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings, Beowulf, plays from Shakespeare, as well as myths and legends from Classical literature.
This post will receive follow-up articles so that the Warrior-Priest can be explored through the use of the Scriptures and various forms of literature.
